The sound of hope

Right at the beginning of confinement, Spanish people adopted the 20h daily collective clapping as a symbolic gesture to recognise those fighting in the front lines at hundreds of hospitals, who risked their lives in order to save others. It quickly became a strong moment of hope for many, an escape, a way to connect with the community and find a small piece of positive energy among so much cruelty around us. This daily clapping gesture ended on May 17th, as a collective goodbye to what is now an unforgettable symbol of this pandemic era.
