Siblings distancing on the stoop

We are together as a family 24/7 now. I tell my children often that they are lucky to have each other as playmates during this difficult time. Still their divergent interests often lead them to different activities, and often in different spaces. When I saw them here – one reading a book calming in the light, the other in the cold shadows drawing with chalk over every inch of space he could find, I was struck by how much distance they can find between each other in space, activity, mood, even light, and all within a small space.
