On March 12th, 2020, my husband and I made the decision to go into self-isolation due to the ever-increasing concern over the COVID19 pandemic. While schools were slower to close, we chose to lock ourselves in to prevent our children from spreading illness to others and to protect our own health, particularly mine, as I am at greater risk due to my autoimmune illnesses. My medical history is riddled with serious events, including sepsis, which has led to trauma-induced anxiety particularly focused on my health.
As the days pushed forward, my anxiety & fears were rapidly reaching their boiling point. In search of solace, I began a daily ritual of meditation, photography and writing. The work that follows is a living project as I process my experience in this uncertain time.
