Emily, centre, is a nurse. She lives with her dad, who is immunocompromised, and her mom lives nearby. Emily’s biggest fear is bringing the virus home to her dad. She described the panic she feels whenever she leaves the house, so much so that she wears a mask at home with him.
We collaborated on a photo to describe the surreal nature of her career and her life during the pandemic. Here, she wears her nurse uniform and mask though she is at home, the door is barred, and her parents wear plastic as they look out into the night together.
